This is a one-day course (9.30am – 4.30pm) here at Little Saxbys Farm on the Kent/Sussex borders for those who have already attended the Beginner’s Course or at least attained some proficiency and wish to develop their skills further.

All you need to bring is: a packed lunch, a pair of (sun) glasses to protect your eyes, gumboots and waterproof clothing. You don’t need to bring any tackle as all tackle is provided, although you are welcome to bring your own and have it thoroughly checked over if you would prefer.

During the morning we will concentrate on improving your casting skills, water craft, tactics and fishing techniques.

During the afternoon you will be able to fish with less formal instruction and (hopefully!) catch and take home up to four fish. Maximum 8 people on each course with 2 instructors.

Please arrive in time for a 9.30am start.

The day will consist of a number of demonstrations each followed by practice with individual instruction covering:

• Dry fly fishing including false casting and slack line techniques.

• Distance casting and the double haul.

• Casting with sinking lines.

• Casting in difficult conditions and places.

• Water craft

• Tactics

• Fishing techniques

During the day tea and coffee is provided, but lunch is not included so we would ask you to please bring a packed lunch with you.

Courses are only run during the best fishing months of late-March to mid-June and late-September and early October.
