Tay report 4th April 2016

Stop Press: No sooner written and published the report below when Nick D returned from fishing the left bank of the Garth, having  landed a nice fresh fish of 7lbs and lost another of about 10lbs. Well done Nick!

Earlier…

Water 3ft on the gauge on arrival and rising after steady rain all day. Exactly what happened to us last year and exactly what we don’t want, especially as there are a number of fish already in and the prospects look promising.

Donald has had 18 up until today nearly twice the number he had this time last year and Tony has reported a similar increase on his catches in comparison with same time last season.

We have seen several fish today but none were in the right mood. Nor were we to be honest… Driving rain is pretty grim to fish in at the best of times and probably worse if you are here mainly to learn to Spey Cast but at least the guys from Iceland seem to think this weather is not at all bad!
