Don’t you just love the weather!
Week before opening day and there is 18 degrees, warm sunshine, frogs spawning all over the lakes and the first serious fly hatches whilst we stocked the lakes. Then on opening day winter returns with driving wind and rain almost all day. Nevertheless two of the rods braved the wet and were rewarded with good catches and even a 3lb brown. The following day the sun shone (as it always does!) on Ron R and he caught an released over 20 fish. Then on the Wednesday the first of my courses with 2 novices and yes, it pissed with rain almost all day! So congratulations to George E who landed 2 nice rainbows and Colin H with his first ever trout a lovely brown trout.
But its very much early days and the lakes are in fine fettle, so much to look forward to.
