Well at least it proved the point… Saturday water down to just under 2ft and on the lower water I managed another fish of 10lbs, Derek C added three more to his fish earlier in the week, 16lbs, 12lbs and 8lbs, Matthey G lost two more fish one of which broke his running line (A […]

Tay 8th April 2015
Water down to 2ft 4ins and clear, at last getting somewhere near a better height for Murthly. I managed a cracking 15lb hen covered in sea-lice (long live the Prawn!) had another offer and Matthew G lost a fish after a good few minutes, all from the Right Bank of the Tronach. We didn’t see […]
Tay 8th April 2015
Water still over 3ft for our day on Lower Water, still way too high for holding fish and slightly coloured adding to our woes. Nothing to show for our efforts.
Tay 6th April 2015
Its stopped b…….y raining at last this morning. Water well over 3ft 6ins on the upper water, but at least high enough to bring the fish up the sides. Jon K lost another salmon because his posh reel jammed for a second time, but did manage a 2lb Sea Trout for his pains. Derek C […]
Tay 5th may 2015
update from my phone…. water 2ft 6ins and clearing am, Cecil d lost 2 fish in spruces one of which broke him, before the gales and driving rain made the river rise again and colour. It couldn’t get any worse!
Tay report 4th May 2015
Salmon fishing can be a truly cruel mistress at times… Water at a lovely height for the latter part of last week. Donald had 5 on Saturday bring his total to 11 and Tony 20 for the week. One of the locals had 8 on the Town water by the bridge. Then the heavens opened. […]
The Tay before we go for my May week

Tay Report wk 6th April 15
Well, what can you say other than just 2 fish for the week, 8 & 10lbs both caught by Dennis P one on the fly the other on a Kynock, one from Murthly 1 with Donald, the other from Murthly 2 with Tony. But perhaps the score did paint a slightly worse picture than the […]
Tay before we go
Just had a chat with Donald… Water is still 4ft on the old gauge (just under 3ft on the Caputh gauge) and at that awkward height for Murthly, but they lost two yesterday and have seen fish running through. Tony Black on Stenton has had 2 this week so far. Numbers for the system seem […]
Trout course 27th March 2015
It has been a late spring here at the farm – the frogs in the lakes have still not yet spawned. The weather has kept water temperatures down, which is a good thing, but also the anglers away. Just two novices for my first course of 2015, Ray and Paul braved the rain in the morning […]
