We seem dogged by fluctuating water heights this year. The lower beat up by over 6ins yesterday on more overnight rain and it’s still raining! One fish lost after a brief but furious fight in the boat pool. Typical of a running fish just nipping the fly as it ran through, which is what happens […]

Tay report 8th May 2014
Water up over 6ins and slightly coloured. A few fish seen on the upper water but not sure any we’re fresh and nothing to show for our efforts. Interestingly the number of fish through the dam so far this year is a small fraction of the number through this time last year. Are they yet […]
Tay report 7th may 2014
Water up 4 ins on overnight rain and slightly coloured. 2 encounters with one landed a lovely fresh 12lb fish for Andrew p from the left bank of the Garth.
Tay report 6th may 2014
Water steady at 1ft 4ins and overcast. Nothing in the morning then just as we started going out in the afternoon there were fish showing everywhere but they were through and gone before our team got going. Only Cecil d had a brief encounter. Just before lunch they got 3 on glen delving!!!

Boxalls 1st May 2014
Well, well… Ron R has always been the Midas of the weather in all the time he has been coming here and yet yesterday was a pretty damp, dull day so obviously even the boss is sometimes out to lunch when you need him! So, the rain really spoiled the best of the Mayfly hatches but between downpours the fish still […]
Trout day at Little Saxbys Farm 22nd April 2014
Doesn’t take long but it makes a significant difference to the results… On Friday we saw the first of the Mayfly hatches this year but the fishing was really quite difficult. The fish seem frightened of these flies and reluctant to feed. Yesterday it was all change. In just four days the fish have wised up to […]
Trout day at Little Saxbys Farm 18th April 2014
The first Mayfly of the year but as is often the case the trout were reluctant to take them. It generally takes a week of so before they catch on! But great see two novices Ian and Sharon S. catch their first fish.
Murthly Report April week ending 12/4/14
A week of frustrating water levels, about sums up our first week at Murthly this year. Just as the water was coming down to a good height (2′ and under) the week before – and yielding up 11 fish – a big rain belt swept through the west on the Sunday and up she went. 3′ […]
Murthley report 11 th April
Still plagued by higher water than Murthley likes, on Wednesday Terry C. managed to get two fish 7lbs and 8lbs from the right bank of the Tronach whilst Tony in the boat managed three more 2 on the Harled fly one on a Kynoch. Yesterday under seemingly ideal conditions but the water still a little too high […]
