Three Days Salmon Fishing only for those not wanting any instruction.
There is always a good chance of a fish at Dalmarnock, but this is spring fishing and it can be hit and miss as to when these hard fighting bars of silver come through, so don’t necessarily expect to catch a fish.
There are a maximum of 12 rods on Dalmarnock 6 each fishing the upper and lower pools alternately. I will be fishing a full rod myself when I am not teaching.
Dalmarnock is a lovely beat with both banks, good access with some fishing from the banks and nice easy wading. The resident ghillie is Colin McFadyen a long-time Tay ghillie and excellent fisher.
In April the Tay can produce some of the best spring salmon fishing in Scotland. In common with most spring salmon rivers all fish must be returned.
The cost which will be £240 for the three days is for fishing only and does not include the traditional ghillie’s tip of £15-20/day. I will be staying at the Royal Dunkel Hotel.
