As I write before we head north, the Tay is running at 2ft 11ins and clear, though the arrival of storm Dave over the weekend could change things somewhat – A band of heavy rain and snow is forecast to sweep through on Saturday night.
That said, Dalmarnock can fish well in high water and the Tay rarely gets too dirty to fish, filtered by loch Tay. In higher water the fish tend to run close to the banks which is helpful for those learning, as yet unable to whack out long lines.
Forecast for the week, after storm Dave has shot through, is actually quite good and the Tay has already been producing a few bars of silver throughout the system, so here’s hoping for a nice week and tight lines!
Updates as we go along, always hoping that the hotel internet is working!
