Traquair, Tweed 2nd November 2021

Water 3ft 6in down to 2ft 9ins today… frustratingly still not a good height. But at least at this height you stand a chance if a head of fish comes through. Sadly they did not. I only saw two fish all day and had a single pull from one of the old residents. That was it.

Enjoyable fishing none the less with the sun out and the autumn colours, just wonderful. We even had the good company of Fer-goose (!) the brilliantly named escaped white goose that has taken up station by the Bridge at Traquair. I am told he is four years old and has befriended a local horse who was away because of the floods. I hope he returns soon. Fergoose was at least enjoying the local baps from a dog walker so I think he is well catered for!
