6th April 2022 Murthly Castle, Tay.

What on earth do we have to do to put one on the bank!

Lower Water: River up about 5ins after the rain yesterday and slightly colored. Mild and overcast with a light downstream breeze. Perfect.

Cecil D got a good pull at the bottom of Ministers, then another which stuck but it was a Kelt!

Duncan R had one on in Sparrowmuir but that fell off. Then Cecil D had another brief encounter in the tail of the Spruces but that didn’t stick either. Running fish just nipping at the flies?

So lots of activity but nothing to show for it.

Anyway that’s my week and a half of courses finished now, so I will get a chance to fish myself over the next three days. Time to really sharpen the hooks, this is spoiling the catch average!
