Fairnilee, Tweed 27th October 2020

Water height down a few ins on yesterday at 2ft 9ins and clear, overcast for the morning and then serious rain and wind this afternoon. I think we may be flooded tomorrow.

6 fish for the day from the beat, Black strand doing its stuff – a great pool as it ever was. And then Duck and Neidpath offering up some good sport. But all old Gentlemen today like me!

Magical moment in the Neidpath as I was joined by an otter playing in the shallows not a rod length from where I was wading. I tried to get the camera out but he ducked under and swam away! Fishing amidst the autumn colors of Tweed valley and being joined by an otter… it doesn’t get any better. Or does it?  Marks daughter’s biscuit cake for tea after… Well that was the proverbial icing on it!
