Water level 1ft 8ins and rising all day, most probably snow melt, with a bit of colour in it, not helping our cause. The team fished hard for the day but nothing to show for their efforts.
1 fish for the week – albeit a 25lb sea-liced cracker on the fly – is a pretty sad return for our efforts in what I would call cold, but generally ideal conditions. Maybe, like my garden, the fish are just going to be several weeks late this year.
