Tay, Scotland 7th April 2023

Upper Water:  River now down to 1ft 1ins on the Caputh gauge. As low as I think I have ever seen it in April. And the sun shone from a cloudless sky…

Two fish seen at the Green Bank and the Burn by Donald, but with little draw there now, he thought they might be residents.

A glorious day on the river, I watched a pair of red squirrels playing at the Pheasant Pen by the Tronach, at least 100 Pinkfeet Geese in a huge Skane pass overhead, a Brown Hare scamper over the road on the way to the hut for lunch and three Roe Deer on the track down. We then basked in the sunshine. A fish would have been appreciated but there was plenty of compensation.
