Water 1ft 10ins and steady all day but a bit too high for Elibank according to Adam. The cause for tomorrow will not have been helped by strong wind and pissing rain most of the day which will at best hold the river up or worse lift it again.
Nevertheless I did manage to hook two fish, one from the bottom beat and one from the top but both very weak takes from old fish and both fell off after 30 seconds or so. Still it was some excitement and Adam saw a fresh fish running through last thing, so never say never… Oh and I have to say that even in the rain Elibank is one of the prettiest beats on Tweed. If it stops raining for five minutes, I will take some pics tomorrow.
I should also add for anyone who has not been here, that Adam and Eleanor the owners could not have been more welcoming. Adams enthusiasm for the fishing is infectious and the soup at lunchtime was wonderful! Thank you both.
